NODU requires access to your photo library to perform its core functionality:

- Scanning photos for duplicates and similar images

**Important:** All photo analysis happens locally on your device. Your photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any external servers.

## How We Use Information

 

All processing happens locally on your iPhone:

- **Duplicate Detection**: Photos are analyzed using on-device AI (Apple Vision framework) to identify duplicates and similar images

- **Visual Fingerprints**: Generated locally and stored temporarily in a local database for comparison purposes

- **Smart Clean**: Analyzes photo age, size, and quality to make recommendations

- **Results Storage**: Scan results are cached locally to improve performance on subsequent scans

## Data Storage

 

All data is stored locally on your device:

- Scan results are cached in a local SQLite database

- Visual fingerprints (perceptual hashes) are stored temporarily for comparison

- App settings and preferences are stored in iOS UserDefaults

- Thumbnail images are cached locally for faster browsing

 

This data is:

- Stored only on your device

- Never transmitted to external servers

- Automatically deleted when you uninstall the app

- Not backed up to iCloud (photos remain in your iCloud Photo Library as managed by iOS)

 

## Third-Party Services

 

### In-App Purchases (StoreKit)

NODU uses Apple's StoreKit framework for in-app purchases:

- Weekly subscription ($1.99/week)

- Lifetime purchase ($19.90 one-time)

 

Apple processes all payment information according to [Apple's Privacy Policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

 

We do not receive or store any payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.). All transactions are handled by Apple.

 

### No Other Third-Party Services

NODU does not use:

- Analytics services (no Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)

- Social media integrations

- Cloud storage services

- Any other third-party tracking or data collection services

 

## Internet Connection

 

NODU works **100% offline**. The app does not require an internet connection for:

- Scanning your photo library

- Detecting duplicates and similar photos

- Deleting photos

- Any core functionality

 

An internet connection is only used for:

- In-app purchase verification (handled by Apple's StoreKit)

- Restoring previous purchases (handled by Apple's StoreKit)

 

## Data Sharing

- Are not uploaded to any servers

You have complete control over NODU's access to your photo library:

- Choose "Full Access" for complete scanning or "Limited Access" to select specific photos

 

### Delete App Data

To delete all NODU data from your device:

1. **Delete the app**: Uninstalling NODU removes all scan results, caches, and settings

2. **Your photos remain safe**: Deleting NODU does not delete your photos (they remain in your Photos app)

 

### Subscription Management

Manage or cancel your subscription:

- **iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → NODU**

- Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid charges

- Access your subscription history through your Apple ID

 

## Data Security

 

NODU employs several security measures:
